Hailing from Ogden, Utah, singer-songwriter Marny Proudfit eyes all directions, writing and singing to understand the people she’s known, the places she’s been and where she’s still going.
On her latest release, Marny delivers a smouldering vocal performance of her emotive and reflective lyrics. She bonds a seamless connection between voice and guitar accompaniment, both offering a perfectly measured balance between gentleness and grit.
Commenting on the track, the artist said, “Wilco (The Crowd) was written during a Wilco concert at Red Rocks in Colorado. I was home for the summer from college, angry and lonely and missing someone. There was this dream that I think everyone has at some point in their life, of moving to the big city but not selling out, whatever that means. I was living in that dream, longing for a reality I had never lived, but wanted something fierce.”
