New York-based artist Zenon Marko wears many hats; not just a composer, producer and electronic musician, his talents stretch to DJ, drummer, studio owner and philosopher, giving him a diverse perspective with which he crafts celestially atmospheric compositions.
His work has been released and on the charts internationally both under his own name as well as under various project aliases including that of his collaboration Metasonica.
Marko also produces, composes, and performs in genres ranging from rock, classical, progressive, electronic, techno, house, world, neoclassical, downtempo, and improvisational but his latest offering comes in the form of an ambient concept album titled Symmetry.
Commenting on the album he offers, “Symmetry is the musically symmetrical soundtrack of a journey, whether physical, intellectual, imaginative, emotional, philosophical, psychological, or spiritual. The music expresses progressive ascent towards a goal, arrival at an apex, descent, and return.”
Beautifully sparse, seraphic and spiritual, the introduction to this opus, Ascent 1, weaves a deep plateau of delicate instrumentation to build an ethereal soundscape that perfectly balances texture with simplicity.
