Beirut have released the official music video for their new single ‘Gibraltar’ taken from their upcoming album No No No.
Joining forces once more with Brother Willis (makers of the kaleidoscopic video for recent single ‘No No No’), and interested by the idea of a setting beside the sea and ‘the massive island of trash which is growing and floating out in the Pacific,’ ‘Gibraltar’ follows Beirut leader Zach Condon and band members Paul Collins and Nick Petree picking their way through a fantasy Gibraltar to meet its ‘Rock’. The landscape – eerily abandoned and filled with detritus – is a world away from its real-life European namesake.
No No No is set for release on September 11th via 4AD. The band, led by frontman Zach Condon, recently performed the preceding single ‘No No No’ on Late Night with Seth Meyers for the first time. You can watch their performance below.
