International rockstar, Foo Fighter and all round nice guy Dave Grohl broke his leg when he fell off the stage at a Foo Fighters concert in Gothenburg, Sweden last night. The former Nirvana drummer reportedly fell during the band’s performance of ‘Monkey Wrench’ and was unable to move for several minutes before being taken backstage for treatment. There was a brief interlude of Grohl’s absence while drummer Taylor Hawkins took over frontman duties as the band performed some covers.
Eyewitnesses stated Grohl returned to the stage after just 15 minutes to resume the show with a cast on his leg, ‘I may not be able to walk or run but I can still play guitar and scream.’ he reassured the audience. Fans were hasty in response to the 46-year old’s dedication by showing their appreciation on social media.
‘Hey, ladies and gentlemen. I love you, but I think I just broke my leg. I really broke leg,’ he told the fans whilst playing guitar sat down, leg in cast.
Certainly a night to remember for the Swedish crowd, it seems a new bench mark has been set for commitment in performance.
