Nomadic artist Llynks, whose haunting and introspective lyrics explore themes of empowerment and self preservation, brings us her latest single Patterns Through Seams, an intimate and profound offering which follows the more rhythm-focused Slow Burn. Although taking inspiration from both fantastical and sci-fi worlds, Llynks’ lyrics are reflective of her life experience and delivered with a powerful voice that manifests as a portal to her soul.
Drawing influence from artists such as Caroline Polacheck, Kate Bush, and FKA twigs, her debut album Become the Root is set to drop early 2020 and tackles the concept of taking ownership of one’s own perception in an emboldened tone backed by ethereal and cinematic production.
A truly poignant work, Patterns Through Seams delivers an emotive and ethereal sound. The instrumentation builds and weaves delicately beneath Llynks’ exquisite vocal performance which soars and aches in equal measure, creating a chilling and uplifting listening experience.
Commenting on the new track, she offers, “Patterns Through Seams is about the uncertainty of existence, obsessing over time wasted and what life should be instead of actually living it. Wondering whether I’m doing enough, whether I’m worth it, and whether I should have already accomplished this or that by now.”
