Not much is known about Californian trio Monti – shrouded in a mystery of their own making, they let their music tell their story. Earlier this year they released their second EP, Twisted Feet, the follow up to the 2017 debut The Heaven. Drawing influence from the likes of FKJ and Slow Magic, they create a downtempo synth pop sound combining intricate atmospheres and powerful electronic crescendos, wrapped up by delicate vocal deliveries.
From their latest release is the title track Twisted Feet, a smouldering blend of lofi indie and electronica, easily able to sit alongside the sounds of Phoria or SOHN. Commenting on the track, the group has said, “This song is a response to the crippling loneliness of depression. It is an act of retaliation against the voices that tell you to give up.”
