Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter and producer Séamus brings us his latest single, Soft, via Paris label Kitsuné Musique and ONErpm. The release follows and builds on last year’s debut EP, I Think I Can Sing, from the 23-year-old Marin County native.
In an era of growing authenticity, Séamus is the story of himself. Reflections of alternative, electronic, and R&B flow together through hauntingly romantic lyricism and icy, cinematic soundscapes. The history of his work was previously focused on production, but now has chosen to showcase a more honest portrayal of himself through his word.
Musically united, the producer is building a river of the common human condition through various chapters in his life. The strive for perfection, the anxiousness of unknowing, and the calm surface. Together, this is his story.
With Soft, he lays down an equally energetic and dreamlike world. Warped and whirling vocals delivered with a subtle aching, soar above instrumentation driven by punching synth stabs to create a worthy future-R&B piece.
