Retro Kid and BRN bring us their new collaborative single Easy the first offering from their debut album Bodega Life. Crossing the bridge between electronic and RnB, the song Easy evokes vivid imaginary of BRN’s midnight flight landing in Copenhagen for the first time, the start of a new chapter in each of their lives and the more metaphysical meaning of an intoxicating love.
Now both based in Copenhagen, BRN and Retro Kid introduce themselves with a unique blend of storytelling and Retro Kid’s distinct electronic sound. Bodega life is their first collaborative project together since their teenage years and the project is composed of 10 tracks spanning from songs about love, loss, lust and social commentary. The project is a journey through the two artists experience of life in a new city, the highs, the lows, the inspirations and the expectations.
The duo recorded the entire album in Retro Kid’s home studio in the urban neighbourhood of Norrebro, the northern part of Copenhagen, which can be heard and felt in the music. On Easy, the artist’s blend delicate and processed vocal lines with heavily rhythmic synth work to create a shuffling indie electro groove.
