Queensland-born, Melbourne-based multi-instrumentalist Joe Kneipp spent his formative years playing bass in Brisbane pop-rock group After Opening, and later guitar in Toowoomba post-rock outfit Maison Hall. Now he brings us his first full length release from his solo project Dumaresq (pronounced joo-mer-ik) with the album crash.projection.interloper, an ambitious 15 track collection of modern grungey indie rock.
Lifted from the release is the track Wellness, a perfect snapshot of Dumaresq’s style which draws influence from the likes of Bloc Party, Nine Inch Nails, LCD Soundsystem, The 1975, Radiohead, and The Cranberries. The track is an atmospheric exploration of alternative sound with ethereal vocal work and a perfect sonic balance between delicate and raucous.
