Ice Cube, DJ Yella and MC Ren stormed the stage at the BET Experience in Los Angeles on the 27th, the first time since they partially reunited in 2000.
With their upcoming biopic ‘Straight Outta Compton’ due soon, rapper Ice Cube spearheaded plans for a live team-up at the Staple Centre in LA. Despite the significant lack of Dr. Dre the trio performed with special guests Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar and Schoolboy Q.
The audience was treated to classic N.W.A. tracks ‘Chin Check’, ‘8 Ball’, ‘Straight Outta Compton’ and for the extremely controversial ‘Fuck Tha Police’, Ice Cube drove out an LAPD cruiser onto the stage.
The group paid tribute to 5th member Eazy-E who passed away in 1995, referencing his tracks ‘Cruising Down the Street in My 64’ and ‘Foe tha Love of $’.
